Cookie policy
This site sets a small number of cookies to work at all, and — only if you agree — a few more to measure how it is doing. Every one of them is listed below, with what it does and how long it lasts.

What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. On the next page you open, the browser hands it back, which is how a site can tell that the two visits are the same person. The same rules cover anything else that stores or reads data on your device — local storage, pixels, and the tags inside a tag manager.
A cookie set by this website is called first-party. One set by another company through this website — Google or Meta, for example — is third-party, and they can read it on other sites you visit too. Both kinds are listed below, and which is which is marked on every row.
What you have agreed to
Nothing except the strictly necessary cookies runs until you say yes. Analytics and advertising scripts are not merely switched off while you decide — they are never added to the page, so no request goes to Google or Meta and nothing is stored on your device.
You can change your mind at any time, and it takes exactly as many clicks as agreeing did. Use the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page, or the button at the top of this one. When you withdraw consent we delete the cookies we are able to delete and reload the page so nothing carries on running.
Essential
Needed to make the site work — keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choice, and stopping the contact form being abused by bots. These cannot be switched off.
Website essentials
Provided by Everclick (this website)
Set by this website itself. They carry no advertising identifier and are never shared with anyone.
| Name | Type | Expires after | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
everclick_consent |
First-party | 182 days | Remembers which cookie categories you accepted or refused, so you are not asked again on every page. |
SSESS…, SESS… |
First-party | Session (until the browser closes) | Drupal’s session cookie. Set only when a session is genuinely needed — when you sign in to the CMS, or after you submit a form — and it holds nothing but a random session ID. |
big_pipe_nojs |
First-party | Session (until the browser closes) | Records whether your browser runs JavaScript, so pages can be delivered in the faster of the two available ways. |
Analytics
Lets us count visits and see which pages people actually read, so we can improve them. We never use this to identify you personally.
Google Analytics 4
Provided by Google Ireland Limited — their privacy policy
Counts visits and page views through Google Tag Manager, and measures how quickly pages load and respond for you (Google’s Core Web Vitals). Until you accept this, the Google Tag Manager script is never added to the page and Google Consent Mode is held at “denied”.
Google may process this data outside the UK and EEA, under the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
| Name | Type | Expires after | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
First-party | 2 years | Distinguishes one visitor from another so repeat visits are not counted as new people. |
_ga_* |
First-party | 2 years | Holds the state of the current visit. The * is the ID of the Google Analytics property the tag reports to. |
_gid |
First-party | 24 hours | Distinguishes visitors within a single day. |
Advertising
Measures which ads brought people here and lets us show our ads to people who have visited before. Switching this off does not mean fewer ads — just less relevant ones.
Google Ads & Meta Pixel
Provided by Google Ireland Limited; Meta Platforms Ireland Limited — their privacy policy
Measures which advert or search brought you here, and lets us show our adverts to people who have already visited. Until you accept this, the Meta Pixel is never added to the page and Google Consent Mode is held at “denied” for advertising.
Google and Meta may process this data outside the UK and EEA, under the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
| Name | Type | Expires after | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au |
First-party | 90 days | Google Ads conversion linker — records that a click on one of our adverts led to this visit. |
Controlling cookies in your browser
Whatever you choose here, your browser has the final say. Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete them, or refuse third-party cookies outright. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop parts of this site working — the contact form in particular.
One limit worth being straight about: a cookie set on another company’s domain can only be deleted by that company or by you. When you withdraw consent we delete the cookies set on this domain and reload the page, but a third-party cookie already on your device has to be cleared in your browser settings.
Your rights
Where a cookie lets us or a supplier single you out, the data behind it is personal data, and the UK GDPR gives you rights over it. You can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold — a copy of your personal data and what we do with it.
- Correct it — if anything we hold about you is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete it — in most circumstances, including whenever we relied on your consent.
- Stop using it — restrict what we do with it, or object to it entirely.
- Hand it over — a machine-readable copy, to you or to somebody else.
- Withdraw your consent — at any time, without giving a reason and without it costing you anything. It does not undo what was lawful before you withdrew it.
To use any of these, write to [email protected]. We have one month to answer.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. You are welcome to come to us first, but you do not have to.
